YTtalk Mad
hey guys! so i've been on youtube for almost 3 years now, and i still have no idea how payment/adsense/networks work.
i've always been in a network, without actually ever using it for anything (i'm just sitting there connected) and only looking at the revenue share.
tonight i was looking for new networks, when i read somewhere something about not having to be in a network to earn money. you can just use the youtube program. i didn't understand this because i couldn't find a revenue share for the youtube partnership anywhere, but i kind of gathered from what i read, that the youtube adsense program works that they take roughly 50% of your earnings and you get the other 50%, and then if you're in a network, say with a 70/30 contract, they take 30% of that 50% and you end up with the remaining 70% of 50% of how much you actually earned. is this correct?
if this is the case, and i have no use for a network, just from earnings point of view, is it a better idea for me to not be apart of a network at all and just get paid through the youtube partnership? i was always under the impression that youtube paid worse than networks, but now i see it's all connected? (if i've understood correctly).
i just thought it was about time i actually understood at least a little what goes on behind the scenes, so i'd appreciate whatever help or information anyone can give me about payment/networks. thanks very much.
