Help: first videos, recommendations (pros and cons) on editing software, vloging style and promotion

On vlogging style, let me tell you, there IS a 'vlogging style'. In the small youtuber community especially the ones with subscribers of 300-20,000, they always have the same 'im so awkward and this is why' persona and a lot seem to have that exotica instrumental hip-hop background music in their videos. Sometimes they'll throw in something more like a short film or just something that shows their best in film skills. That might be just me, but as a watcher of many small youtubers, there's a similarity between them. Then again, those people are usually ages of 14-21.

Just do your own thing. Doesn't anyone remember "Broadcast yourself"?

Hello Awksie, I was thinking of using Zither music to add a little quirkiness, I guess that might count as exotica but not hiphop. I will give it a go and stamp my own style on it thank you for the advice! ::Grin::
