Why do you need our help then? You clearly have it covered :) Try brodie's suggestion, it may appear under a different name :)

I was just speaking from personal experience from having both a Rode Vidmic and MacBook Pro. We provided you with an alternative, but you seem to know what you are doing :)

I need help because it's not coming up on the list??

It wouldn't pop up saying it's the 'rode videomic' or anything, it'll just be the name of the audio card/driver that it's connected to and that'll be what one it is. I'd suggest just to try every one you see in the list until you find it :P
Oh right it's the only thing in the list is the Mac mic I'm so confused

As I said before, it never worked for me. I just thought it wasn't compatible with a mic headphone jack.
If you are having technical difficulties, try calling the apple support helpline cause I can't provide anything further than a failure from previous experience in this exact same situation and providing you an alternative.

Either way, I hope it works for you :)

Yeah I'm having a nightmare with it

I think I might just record the voice over for now with my MacBook mic even though it's not that great

If you have any gamer friends I'm sure they have a guitar hero or rockband mic. They are cheap and work very well. Its the bets alternative I can suggest :) Other than that, try recording with your phone or Ipod. They have a much better mic than the mac one :)
