Yes it would work, it does mean you wouldn't be able to see the Xbox One in all it's 1080p glory.. but you could always use a HDMI splitter as well..
Setup:
Xbox one > HDMI Splitter > 1 - HDPVR1, 2 - TV.
Using that set up you would get the recording but you would also get the full HD resolution sent to the TV not playing through the HDPVR.
okay well that's just a suggestion if you want to play in 1080p but don't want to upgrade your HDPVRI'll play and record in 720p which is alright>..

I suggested you used a HDMI splitter, sorry I forgot to add a piece.. let me re-do this..I don't really understand the setup isn't it more like this:
Xbox one connects to the convertor with hdmi. That converts it to component cables which plugs into hd pvr....

SETUP
Xbox One >
Splitter >
This setup would allow you to record in 720p with component, but it would also let you play in 1080p on your TV without having to use the Output component cables on the HDPVR.
- HDMI - Component converter > HDPVR1
- TV
Basically the HDMI Splitter would give you 2 HDMI outputs from the Xbox one, one of the outputs you would plug straight into the TV and the other you would use the adapter to change it to component and then plug that into the HDPVR![]()
You would need:Thanks for all the help man! Do you know how much all this will cost?
You would need:
1 HDMI Splitter - £4-£25 (depending on quality)
1 HDMI to Component - £7-£20 (best I could find - )
and the HDMI cable that comes with the Xbox one = free
No problemThanks for all the help man![]()
