Having Non Believers

You will meet many people on YouTube who waste their time on hating on your content, but you shouldn't take them seriously, you can take it as a positive note to grow your channel and never feel discouraged. I am glad to know that you will be working on YouTube till your old age, you should definitely keep that spirit. If anyone is still showing hate on you, block the immediately.
 
I think a lot of people assume that if you have a youtube channel and you are active then you are automatically aiming for stardom, and obviously we are not all built for that and I think that a lot of people form their opinions on that basis.

You may never break a 1000 subs cos you aren't funny enough/smart enough/cool enough or whatever. If you enjoy it then it is not a waste of your time. Simple as that.

I haven't seen your channel so I am not commenting on how good you are here, just hypothesising.

I haven't had anyone say anything like that to me, and it really sucks that someone would say that to you! If you've found a hobby that you enjoy then no one should try and make you think the hobby is a waste of time. If you're enjoying what you're doing then how can it be a waste of time?

I am pretty new to youtube so I don't have a ton of content.. but most of my channel is vlogs,cooking and sketches... I try to upload every week but some days I can't cause I have a full time s**t retail job so everyday my schedule is different.. I love editing my videos and being in front of the camera.. it's my hobby outside of work but then I have people who are like....why... you make a video of you bitching.. or that sketch was not funny lol

I plan on doing YouTube until I am a old man LOL I can vlog in the nursing home :bounce: What do you say to people that say you will never get that many subscribers and you are wasting your time.... I just shrug it off but I have feelings too:cry2: :stomp: :furious:

The story above is the big reason why I actually told absolutely no one in my surroundings about my channel in the beginning.
I was so scared for all the judging and mockery that I just didn't dare.

But since my channel started growing and I started to become proud of it I told the people around me and they were more accepting then I realized, luckily it's not that a big deal anymore.

there are still a few very close family members who I have a difficult relationship with that I just do not intent to tell, but If they stumble upon it that will be it and they just have to deal with it period.
 
My "philosophy" is that if you're doing something you enjoy, it's not a waste of time...you could sit for our hours and stare at a rotting salmon, and it wouldn't have been a waste of time if you enjoyed it.

So just tell those people to sod off :p

Luckily everyone of my friends I've told have either not cared or been supportive...but then again, doing gaming videos on youtube is probably one of the least nerdy things I've done, so I think they see it as kinda "tame" by comparison :P
 
I've been pretty lucky as far as family and friends opinions go. I did have one relative that would constantly try and get me to babysit for them because they believed youtube isn't a real enough job to tell them I'm busy. and some people just plain dont get it. they ask my parents "yeah but like.... what does she do?" ...youtube "yeah but thats a website"
*groan*

if you get a true person that says its worth nothing, not only is it wrong if your enjoying yourself, but you should send them a screenshot of every single comment or sub you get from now on LOL
