Having a bit of a panic

I don't think it's bad either, as long as you organize the different themes, so people who like vlogs for example can go to the vlog playlist, gaming people to gaming etc etc. Just an example, but I think it shouldn't matter and hey, maybe people want to try out the other themes aswell which means more views and more active subscribers on different themes!

I don't have a specific video type, I just make whatever I'm feeling like. I haven't even set up Playlists properly yet (thanks for the reminder) and honestly I feel like I'm doing just fine so I imagine you are too :)
you are doing so well! My dream is to reach 1k well done you!

I dont have a theme either, I just say these are videos from my life.. some may be vlogs, sketches, challenges, cover songs, etc etc.. but yeah i have the same issue. I am at 1400 subs but wish i could find a niche audience to grow faster (?)

I have wanted 1000 subs for so long and its just not happening I don't know where I'm going wrong then hahaha

My youtube channel does not have a specific theme, I love doing videos and filming myself talking about different things, and now i'm worried thats why I don't seem to be gaining subscribers, I don't really want to do a specific theme as that would mean less videos for me as I wouldn't know what to film apart from if it was gaming but i'm not part of a network so I wouldn't earn any money from youtube which I would like, I love doing a random mix of whatever comes to mind, but is that a bad thing? i love my channel and i have a decent amount of subscribers but I am worried that my channel will never go far due to the fact I do such a wide mixture of videos!

I do have playlists for videos that fit in with a certain theme but is that enough!
This is why my channel doesn't take off I think. I do mostly dog videos, but I also do multiple types of GoPro videos (dog slow motion, time lapse, mountain biking, doing weird things to my GoPro, etc), random weird experiments, spicy challenges, etc. So yeah, I also have no real theme. I never plan on my channel getting big, I go on a video by video basis. Some videos I take just for the sake of sharing with family and friends, others I plan on reaching wider audiences. It all depends on what you want and expect from your channel.[DOUBLEPOST=1437693949,1437693880][/DOUBLEPOST]

I've had a channel since April 2008 and still have under 750 subs if that makes you feel better...

To be honest I have had my channel since 2008 but I have only very recently started uploading regularly, I did a few videos a year ago which have now got a fair amount of views but still under 1k, but it would often be months before I would upload again, I either didn't have the time or just didn't have an idea so didn't do one.
It's only been the last couple of months I have really thrown myself into youtube again and started uploading once a week, but I started off with 14 and I had a video that went viral and thats how I have all the subscribers I have now, that video was done a year ago and I had no idea it would be so popular, it was just a random video like my others, but seeing my notifications go insane with comments and subscriptions was amazing, especially as i went from 14 to 700 and something practically overnight.
But unfortunately I have barely progressed from then on, I still have the same amount of subs I had a year ago, but I have only technically been active properly on my channel for a couple of months so I can't really say how long I have technically had my channel as I went years without uploading anything last time I uploaded before the few from last year, was when I was 17 and the videos were so terrible they were all deleted and it turns out i took them off my computer too unfortunately, it was the yougeneration competition last year that started it all again, so maybe it will be better now I have more time, and in a better frame of mind to do them, and also that i'm much more active with uploading videos AND use better editing software as before I started university, I only had movie maker, and I only recently got my camera that I use to film, my old slr didnt have a video option so I had to use my webcam.

I don't think our channel really has a theme either, vlogging is such an open-ended thing, I think it's just the nature of the beast.

Do whatever makes you happy, Becky, don't feel like you have to narrow it down for other peoples' sake. If you could group them into a few playlists though, that'd at least help make things seem more organized. Broader themes for the playlists may leave more room for you to find a place for each video :)
