Have you ever over-produced a video?

Easily Distracted
Because I'm in the process of doing so right now and I'm having a lot of fun applying unnecessary effects to it. I'm learning how to do new things in my editor and I'm getting pretty hyped for a video that's less than 2 minutes long.

Have you ever done this? Were the results satisfying?

Once as an exercise I applied every single transition effect in my library to a music video, just to get it out of my system! It's funny though because quite a few people liked it anyway!

Lol, I remember doing something similar with a group video in college. We regretted this decision.

This is more like being aware of does it look good or no and being honest with yourself. Most of the people including myself might think oh daaamn this is freakin dope!! This is totally my best work ever. After a week you realize what a dumbass you are for putting so much lol. I mean i've learned and had experience. Cuz you have to look at it as an average viewer not as the creator to give yourself a valid honest opinion. If you think its too much then maybe don't overdo it cuz sometimes simplicity works best but its great to experiment and try cuz you learn but in the end you want it to be appealing to your viewers as well.

I try to do this in all of my videos. Mostly my games of the week videos to keep them interesting. I found that the funnier a video is, the more comments and likes you receive.

I've done it before. I feel like there's a fine line. If you over edit it enough it may come off as funny which is cool if that's what you're going for:P

No! Too many effects will distract from your exceptional looks, I mean sense of humor.
But seriously, it is possible to edit something to death, so beware . I guess it would be best to let it sit for a week and then look at it again with fresh eyes. But can you wait??

I tend to take it easy with transitions, effects and stuff.

A simple jump cut or cross fade is all that is needed for my stuff. I know, I live life on the wild side!

You're too kind, Sabrina!

Unfortunately, I cannot wait. The video will be finished today and uploaded tomorrow. I'm chomping at the bit to get it out, actually.

And I agree, too much editing can distract from the final product. I'm trying not to go overboard but I guess I'll see what people think when dozens of people finally see the video.
