Hate Comments

Dear YTtalk,

So lately I've been getting lots of support, but I've also been getting a bunch of hate comments too. They were saying to kill myself and drink bleach. It almost gave me tears and wanted to quit YouTube. Is there anything I can do to stop these things from happening? (Btw my channel is SgtCheez) If you don't see any hate comments on my channel, I might have deleted most of them. But anyways, any tips? I know these hate comments shouldn't get to be like that, but they do.

imo the best way to deal with those people is to make video about them just making fun of these comments don't ever take or do seriously anything that internet tells you

I've gotten death threats just because of my accent and not even the contents of my video.

Yes - do not answer and delete them. Works like a magic.
You can create a filter also in your channel settings with "kill" and "bleach" and whatever else you like so comments containing this words will never appear on your channel.

Ignore them, and just appreciate the fact that if you have idiots criticising you it only means you are doing well enough to make people jealous!

They're just trolls and douchebags. Try to ignore them, otherwise either set blacklisted words like someone else recommended or just ban them from your channel by finding here comment and clicking the 3 dots, there should be an option there if I remember correctly.

This is a side of YouTube that every creator doesn't like. =( Just delete them and try to ignore them. Block the user if it's extremely hateful. =S It's super easy to type that advice, but so much harder to actually do. Whenever I see a hate comment, it sticks with me all day -- despite everyone else saying such nice positive things. I always try to think of the ratio of nice comments vs. hate comments, and it makes me feel a little better. ^^

Ignore them. Since you're getting more popular on YouTube, more people are commenting. What comes with that are hate comments. There's nothing you can do about that so don't entertain them by taking the bait and getting upset at them.
