Has promoting videos on Twitter worked for you?

Hello everyone, this is a question I've been having for a long time now. I often see people telling me to post videos on Twitter to promote them. However, I am not sure how to do it right, and is it worth the time.

I have a twitter account with about 4000 friends who are targeted as gamers, and I have a CS:GO channel that I have just created a few weeks ago.

For those of you who have promoted your videos on Twitter, what kind of results have you had with the video views? Does it make a difference to add hashtags etc. to your videos?

Thanks!

PS: First post yay!

If those 4,000 people are actual supporters then you should ABSOLUTELY share your videos on twitter. But if they are only following you because you followed them, chances are they don't read your tweets. Twitter can take a while to be a good source of views. You'll need to establish your feed as something people WANT to read. Welcome to the forums!

I would say go ahead and post your videos there, you could generate traffic towards your channel.

It has its uses, when it has come to promoting YTtalk articles, news and such it hasnt been all that effective. I havent put much effort into promoting videos on any social media at the moment other than instagram and pinterest, I just use the auto post feature on YouTube to share them, some of the less used social media sites have the highest engagement levels from followers etc in comparison to the largest ones.
