Has anyone used Raffle Copter for a giveaway?

I'd like to do a giveaway on my channel, and I was wondering if anyone had good or bad experiences to share with Rafflecopter?

I have used RaffleCopter, but for competitons on other social media for my past projects (such as Twitter).

It seems to work really well. You can set how many entries a user gets by each action (i.e. tweeting a message, liking a page, following etc.)

Don't think it has a "YouTube subscribe" option though (if this is what you want).

But it's useful for building the fanbase for your channel on other Social Media.

I wouldn't want a YouTube Subscribe -- that would be against YouTube policies. I'm hoping to build my constant contact email list, Facebook likes, and just to do something fun for my viewers with a sponsor who is giving the prizes for the promotional opportunity. Do I need to do one of the paid plans with Raffle Copter or is the free option good enough?

You should be okay for a Free plan for those needs. However, Email list must be paid for.

The only things different that the first paid plan offers are:
  • Conduct Polls/Surveys
  • Change Start/End Times
  • Add Prize Photo Slideshow
  • Gain Pinterest Followers & Pins
  • E-Z Generate Terms/Conditions
  • 24-hour Email Support
If you are not interested in these, then there is no need.

However, I must say that you may not be able to build your email list. Everything else seems fine though. Don't think that you can invent your own option too and get their email. This would break RaffleCopters policies, and may also skate very thin to the Data Protection as you are using the information for a different purpose.

As long as you stay away from the email thing, that should be fine. But it's perfect for your Facebook Page, Twitter, etc.

I used a tool called GimmyIt. Companies such as Gameloft and Mad Catz are using the tool as well as YT channels like Geekanoids for tech giveaways.

It's built for YouTube specifically, so you'll follow all the rules while also leaving the opportunity to gain more subscribers.
