Has anyone here built a Youtube community?

Not just a good amount of views or subs , all that's great.
But honest supporters.
Like if your channel got banned tomorrow , would you have people dedicated to you enough to be able to find you if you had to start another.

Like with Smosh. I see people with twitter handles like I<3Smosh4ever Smosher34235 Smoshfan33 etc etc
Smosh has legit fans , not just viewers.
Same with like Epic Meal Time or Epic Rap Battles.

Anyone here have advice and experience??

This whole website is a Youtube community, we're like one big family. :P
But uh, if you're talking about channels, I believe there are a few big channels here that may have legitimately huge followings like @markkaz. :)

"smosh had legit fans, not just viewers", tryna say my fans arn't legit? They been faking it all this time?

Lol are you asking if anyone here is "Famous"? because that's what it seems.

I think we are starting to build a trans-YouTube community. Several of our friends want or already created their own YouTube channels based on our channel concept (kids focused family vlogs). Anyway I like it and I am curious how it will develop in the future.
:)

There is a difference between being famous and having loyal followers devoted to your channel. I think that is what this post is about.

Yeah exactly this.
Not asking how to get famous/mega huge

Just seeing if anyone has built a good following of loyal supporters
Views/subs don't equal fans and fans don't always equal fame

It's all about the content. The interaction and nice comments will follow all by themselves.

Create a "need" - Make yourself indispensable so that if you weren't there, people would miss you and your content. That should be your thought process when you're planning and making your videos. Good luck.
