After seeing many people suggest Handbrake for lowering file size but keeping the quality fine.

So I have it set up, but when I import a "source", it scans it, but when I click start it keep saying this:

handbrake.jpg

I've had a look around Handbrake, couldn't find anything, and Google, nothing.

The video is about 3.24GB and is about 4-5Mins long.

I also tried another file that was 100MB thinking it's not able to handle the large file, but same issue.. -.-

Any help appreciated. :)

DXTory with the codec I am using writes uncompressed frames, big files but less FPS hit, thanks for answering my question and congrats on knowing the year. ;)

I'm sorry but there is no reason as to why you need your quality that cranked up. YouTube Compresses it anyway. Also why uncompressed frames? You're only creating yourself a world of hurt in editing and pre-rendering.

YouTube only works at 30fps aswell... so why does the less FPS hit matter?

There's no need to be spiteful if you don't understand what you're doing.

congrats on knowing how to YouTube... oh wait.

lastly, if you didn't get the year joke. I was saying that you were stuck in the past.

Ok dude just saying just stop being rude to him. Files are ALWAYS big i have 120gb files for a hour recording. Fraps, dxtory, basically any of these do that, and @Scobalula and its been awhile since ive used handbreak but just press the source button but just take the file in your editor instead it usually decreases the size anyways

Thanks, I'll try that. ^^

@greatbritishbg You had no reason to post here in the first place if you aren't going to help, let's just leave it at that. ;)

I suggest that you render your vids first then compress it with Handbrake. I'm more comfortable on doing that.

I already stopped using Handbrake cuz I'm have trouble on uploading. It always says "Your video is not synced" or something like that. >.> and handbrake compressing is just too slow so it's hard to experiment on it.

Actually I am helping. I've given him an explanation into why recording uncompressed above 30fps is pointless. If you're going to record and upload to YouTube there is no need to go above 30fps.Using uncompressed files is not a wise move either, if you're editing a longer video it will take a while to pre-render.

My question at the beginning was a joke as there are better and easier alternatives. Using Dxtory or Fraps has nothing to do with it. His codecs are what are causing the issues. Just compress the files before hand. Or use something else like FFsplit and use Dxtory as the source. This allows you to record the files in a compressed FLV format for direct upload (If not editing) which will drop the size by a huge amount. Or you could record to MP4 using the preloaded default settings and still have a small file.

No. They are not ALWAYS Big. Would you believe I can record over 40 minutes of 720p HD footage and it be smaller than 500mb?

If you're going to give advice, give correct advice.
