If you compress your files to .mp4, they'll upload easier on YouTube. It's the file name I use to upload with I edit them in Camtasia, and it's all easy,

MP4 is a container, it has nothing to do with video quality or compression. H.264 is the name of the compression, which has the best quality to file size ratio.
