Hi guys! I just started YouTube about two months ago, and my editing is horrible, though I am learning very slowly. I would like to know if any of you lovely, experienced people have some good tips for editing videos. Especially if you edit gaming videos!

Patience is key.

If something doesn't look right but you want to keep it in some way go back with every little frame and see which parts you don't like and fix them.

I'm not the best editor or anything just that's how I do it.

windows movie editor is a good one that's what I use its free and it works good.
I have a program! I use DaVinci Resolve!

Don't be afraid to cut. I've chopped over three hours of footage down to less than fifteen minutes in the past. Find a, for lack of a better term, story thread in the video and cut anything that doesn't help move it along. I'm not describing that very well but the more you edit you start to develop a sense for a video's momentum and you can see where it flows and where it doesn't.

Trust your instincts and if something isn't working get rid of it.

Thank you! I will keep this in mind!

If you have any parts where you don't say anything/nothing interesting happens make sure to cut it out.
Also , that editing software isn't that good consider changing it to Sony Vegas or something similar if you can :)

I'm a new youtuber as well and currently i use imovie to edit my videos and audacity to record any commentary! I think if anything knowing where to cut gameplay and what to keep is a learn as you go kinda thing! Every video you make is always slightly better than your last one so keep going!
