I had no idea we couldn't edit comments before. That goes to show you how much I comment.Everyone's complaining about the negatives, and I agree it's kinda clunky and there are drawbacks. However, there are a few changes that I think actually make it worth it.
- The automatic spam filter actually works now - Before comments were rarely flagged as spam even if it was flagged by users. This meant that you had to constantly watch your videos for spam comments and delete them yourself. However, looking through the hidden comments now, YouTube seems to get them all. I even had a notification for a spam comment just a couple minutes ago, but when I went to delete it, it was already hidden as spam!
- Blacklisted Words - You can now blacklist your own list of words. I think this is great for people who don't want profanity in their comments. I can imagine it has tons of more applications that are not very obvious as well.
- Free Promotion from Sharing - By default, when you make a comment, there is a box checked that says "also share on Google+". This means that most of the time when someone comments on your video, anyone who follows them on Google+ will also see the comment and your video.
- You can Edit your Comments - This one is pretty self explanatory.

Yeah, all of this seems very neat, especially the spam filter. Hopefully the blacklist works better soon too. Some have said some words on their blacklist still appear from time to time. I also noticed the share on Google+ box last night. I totally unchecked it.
