Google Plus Commenting on YouTube - ALL G+ COMMENTS POSTS HERE

Hi all,

I couldn't see a thread for this open so I thought I'd start one. What does everyone think about the new comments system (i.e. Google+ users only and the "top comments" change)?

Personally, I think the whole idea is reasonably good, though I am confused as to how they decide which the "top comments" are that I want to see, since the up/down voting buttons seem to have disappeared.

I think I read that the top comments come from people who are in your google + circles, and also other "notable channels" or something to that effect.

Pretty s****y considering the majority of the viewers interact on the watch page. Rarely anybody uses this Google+ s**t to comment in. Way to f**k it up again, Google.

Look at the OneChannel design. People made a HUGE deal over it. Saying it was going to kill YouTube, hurt YouTubers, blah blah blah. Once it was forced and people got used to it, you don't hear anyone talking about it anymore.

That's because its over a year old and I'm not gonna sit here and b***h about something that's long done I still don't like the OneChannel update they did. Not the layout itself I don't mind that my big gripe with it was the change to not have the subscription feed on default on the homepage anymore, and it has hurt youtubers I know my views have dropped since the subscription feed was taken away and I know I watch less videos of people I'm subscribed to because of it.[DOUBLEPOST=1383850644,1383850434][/DOUBLEPOST]
Really, we sign up for new accounts for things all the time. I don't get the hate for having to sign up for one more, especially because like people said, you don't actually have to use the site for social networking if you don't want to.

But I think my biggest surprise at the reaction to the change is how everyone is complaining that Google is just doing this to get people to sign up for "a service nobody uses." If this gets people to use G+, then G+ will become useful and there'll be no reason anymore to complain about having to have signed up. And you can't get people to use G+ if you don't get them to sign up for it first. (I also suspect this is merely the first step toward complete G+ integration, so those who really don't like it may want to brace themselves.)

To go one step further, I don't even think G+ is that bad. Actually, I don't think it's bad at all. Obviously it's not perfect, but the bulk of the complaints I read are basically "it's crap" or "nobody uses it." I rarely if ever hear an actual criticism of something the site does wrong.

Thats not the point the point is they are forcing people to use it if they want to use something they already use and love. The point is Google+ couldn't stand on its own two feet it wasn't appealing to users, and instead of going back to the drawing board and figuring out something that works they have forced it down youtube users throats.

Love it just hate how we are now forced to link our account to Google+
We are on youtube to watch videos , not for the Shi**y google+!

i already say this in another thread. i say that this changes will be good for everyone because of the promotion.. also changes we dont like at first but we will be like it later, just like the one layout, most of us like it and the others got use to it. is going to be the same with google+ comments
