Google Plus Commenting on YouTube - ALL G+ COMMENTS POSTS HERE

Whats even more frustrating is people are asking me questions in the comments and I CAN'T reply to them!

I'm thinking about making a video for tomorrow so that my viewers know that there are changes and it might take a few days for me to figure things out and to let them know that they may need a G+ account to comment.

Thats a good idea! Especially since it seems a lot of people arent even aware because they can still comment without Google+

But yeah, the Google+ s**t pisses me off massively as well. Instead of working on improving Google+ itself, Google just forces it down everyone's throat. Well, I personally find Google+ hard as f**k to navigate and really annoying to use.

That is exactly my issue with Google+ It's confusing and hard to use and that's why people don't like using it, and instead of going hmm there must be something wrong with this since no one is using it lets see what we can do to make it more appealing to people, they just go force everyone on youtube to have it.[DOUBLEPOST=1383800587,1383800131][/DOUBLEPOST]
And this is why we need to manually reduce their income. Everyone should use AdBlock and let them decide if they want to force G+ on everyone badly enough that they're willing to take the revenue hit.

Honestly if anything that will just make Google block people using adblock from using youtube, So that will just ruin it for those of you that use it.[DOUBLEPOST=1383800644][/DOUBLEPOST]

Well they will eventually the only reason I linked to google+ is because it forced me to if I wanted to continue to comment.

Ridiculous, Google Plus is terrible. It is literally the worst thing that has ever happened to Youtube. I'm not changing my channel, I just won't comment anymore.

It's f'n retarded you got to have a G+ account to reply to a comment. But the hashtag system of hashtaging a video to a word could actually work. Especially if the topic is common or trending. There's a bit of a plus side to this.

Everyone's complaining about the negatives, and I agree it's kinda clunky and there are drawbacks. However, there are a few changes that I think actually make it worth it.

  1. The automatic spam filter actually works now - Before comments were rarely flagged as spam even if it was flagged by users. This meant that you had to constantly watch your videos for spam comments and delete them yourself. However, looking through the hidden comments now, YouTube seems to get them all. I even had a notification for a spam comment just a couple minutes ago, but when I went to delete it, it was already hidden as spam!

  2. Blacklisted Words - You can now blacklist your own list of words. I think this is great for people who don't want profanity in their comments. I can imagine it has tons of more applications that are not very obvious as well.

  3. Free Promotion from Sharing - By default, when you make a comment, there is a box checked that says "also share on Google+". This means that most of the time when someone comments on your video, anyone who follows them on Google+ will also see the comment and your video.

  4. You can Edit your Comments - This one is pretty self explanatory.

Saw this tweet by CaptinSparklez. Thought it was pretty neat and shows that it is a good update.

I agree there are good points to this, i think we are just blind to see them as we are trying to learn this new commenting system.
The google+ system is getting hard for me to manage a profile and a page, and having to be very carefull what you posting with.

I will try to the black listing words, i tried before and even the most common swear words would come through.

The spam filter is failing, it is flagging comments from some of my top subscribers

Example of comment allowed "I touch tapped your mom last night" posted 1 hour ago
Example of comment flagged "Hairdryer sounds is perfection" 2 weeks ago

Also i can not approve these normal comments

They are just so butthurt that facebook were first to market and have the social networking site that everyone likes and wants to use.

I have no issues if Google want to try to compete by launching G+, but forcing people to sign up to it so that they can comment on a totally unrelated (other than the ownership) video hosting site is verging on unfair competition and a surefire way to p**s off your users.

It's absolutely terrible in terms of PR. Everyone will forever associate G+ with backhanded methods for getting people to sign up to a terribad social networking site that no-one needed in the first place.
