Google is Abandoning the G+ Signup Requirement

Hopefully the comment section will come back for the non Google+ users here (Hi) and I also hope that everyone gets the option to get a channel link and let it actually count as an username, just as a pop up page like they did with G+ itself.
I like Google+ better as optional feature than a required feature.

... Okay I just read the article again and noticed that YouTube etc still requires G+ but hey, it's a start :U
 
Hopeful that this will result in more activity in comment sections, though I do feel bad for the handful of folks who put time into learning the Google Plus culture only to have this happen. Should have always been optional.
 
Looks like this is victory for Bob and his army of tanks :) I'm glad they got rid of it I couldn't stand the redundancy of google plus being on youtube. Hopefully it doesn't affect much I don't think too many people used it for promotion.

Well I did and I got a huge bump in interactions and views after launching my Google+ page. :/
 
I'm glad that they are giving the option. I wonder if it is response to some UK monopoly legal issues.

But, I would still prefer that YouTube comments be connected to Google Plus.
