Hey I wanted to use it to promote a single video, not sure how to go about it.

There's 3 options and I can check 1-3.


View counts and call-to-action
Access your video view statistics and add call-to-action overlays to your videos.

Remarket
Show ads to people who visit and interact with your channel.

Engagement
Measure the impact of video ads by tracking visitor behavior on your channel, once they view your ads.

Remarket seems stupid to me, then it would show the ads to people who already watch my videos?
I'm not sure how adwords work, how many views could you get for how much money for example?

Please tech me senpais of the yttalk community.

Well, I tested Adwords out before and you can get really good views if you target the right audience; it's really basically how you set up your tags. I set my limit to $5.00 since it was a test. I'd say $5.00 gets you about 200-500 views.

For Adwords, you are charged depending on how many people view and or click, also you can choose the type of ads you want to show.
If you have a low money-cap, you will use it up really quickly. It gives you a marker but it's not always accurate.

As far as those options go, I don't remember selecting those options. I tested this out about 8 months ago.
 
I think the first one will bring you more new people and views, remarket seems pretty stupid to me. If they're already on your channel, why would you need to show ads for them?

But that said; just because it will bring you views, that doesn't necessarliy mean subs.
If you try to use good search words and narrow the ads down to people that watch that sort of content that you make, you will have more success than if the ads shows for a person that searches for entirely different types of vidoes than the ones you make.

The last one I'm not so sure what does.
 
It all seems a little strange to me, like if I spent 500 dollars it would be 20,000-50,000 views? that's not all that much :C
I was hoping to boost a video a ton but it seems expensive.

anyone else have experience they'd like to share? ;D

I'm just amazed you feel the need to boost a video! You're nearly at 200k subscribers! :) Give me that 500 dollars instead ;D

Well my latest video got #1 on Reddit, however the mods made a mistake and took it down. It missed a few extra hours on the frontpage, and I want to make up for that ;P
I'd like for it to have at least 500,000 views within a week or two, otherwise it's trash compared to my other montages in terms of views ^^
