Google AdWords is not worth it

Yeah, I'll have to redo my trailer regardless. Care to link us to yours @Tarmack

I actually have 2. Both unmonetized videos, one public as my trailer on the channel itself for unsubscribed visitors, the other unlisted. They're pretty similar though.[DOUBLEPOST=1396553475,1396552909][/DOUBLEPOST]
Uh-huh, and 98.6% of all stats are made up. I should know ... I work in a statistical field! :p

Actually, here is something with a little bit more concrete data: http://www.quora.com/AdBlock-browse...y-AdBlock-Plus-or-similar-ad-blocking-plugins

Yes, it certainly is something that varies by location and user. More savvy users (Firefox/Chrome/Linux) are more apt to use it. And more tech savvy sites will by proximity experience it more as well. Shane has commented on it regarding YouTube before giving rough guesstimates of somewhere less than 10%, which will also of course vary from channel to channel as the audience demographic will impact how pervasive it is. All of that considered though, the combination of YouTube being unable to provide enough ads for all views and advertisers shying away from mobile right now are the two biggest factors in low monetized view percentages. Adblock is notable yes, but a majority it is not.

I would caution putting too much stock in ClarityRay. Stats as you mentioned can be manipulated and they are in a position of conflict of interest as they sell adblock monitoring software to ad publishers.

I didn't say it was accurate data, just more concrete than someone spouting that only 1% of the world's internet population uses AdBlock.

Any tips on what you did in your trailer for such success on conversions?

I don't try to toot my own horn very often but it comes down to being able to share the value that you provide to the viewer. For example, I tend to focus on higher production value videos than just standard lets plays with no editing. I do what I would guess is top 1 percentile for audio quality on YouTube as far as gaming commentators so I commented on the audio/video quality. Tried to throw in a little humor by contrasting my voice against my more high pitched younger bretheren that tend to do gaming videos. I also have a backcatalog of 250+ videos so the channel is well populated when people visit it.

It is also imperative that you spend the time to make sure your trailer has no errors of any kind. No um's, no unintentional dead air. Edit the hell out of it so that it's the best you can make it and hopefully success will follow.

Yeah, I'm 23, not a squeaker. Definitely should put more work into my trailer. Probably also because I'm a new channel :)

Google Adwords is not a good choice unless you are relatively well know. Send me a private message tommy and I will show you how to grow you channel I grew mines and I start back in November and now I have over 1k subscribers

Even though you 1K subs, you have some rather curious statistics. I'm not sure what methods you are using but in my opinion, they are not helping your channel.

Tried AdWords for like 2 weeks, different trailers, and tried all the tweaks and settings. Result was no conversions, and 4k views. Spent about $12.

The views look nice, but there is really no point if your not gaining subs.

Well it's an advertising program, of course you're going to get nothing but views.

Unless you're using an ad type video that's professional, and catches the viewers attention super quickly, you'll get nothing but views.
