Google Adwords Failure?

I had a similar experience with adwords when I had the same amount of videos as you. I think it was with 1000 views with no likes and no subs. But I didn't really narrow down my keywords at the time and just did it for the sake of experimenting.

My keywords are very narrow I believe, I'm only promoting it through very specific dota keywords. Anyway, dota 2 ads on reddit is a complete failure. I got 2 subs in a few hours but I got 4 dislikes on my video and no likes. Time to cancel the ad, LOL.

While I'm on this topic, the 1000 views - did you get high retention?

My other try was for 2000 views (coz I got a free promotion deal with adwords at the time, might as well use it haha) I got 60-70% retention but still subscribed below 5 and likes below 5 heh.

Wait you paid for ads on reddit? O.O they hate self promotion, its a bipolar community. You were probably better off posting the video there without the ad. Did I misunderstood you?

I did, yeah, for a test to see what results would be like. Terrible terrible. Actually my only dislikes on my channel so far are from reddit...

So it looks like thousands of views and no subs are common with adwords.

That remind's me. I did an ad in 4chan when my channel was maybe 2 months old just for the giggles and found its just expensive and not many views for a lot of impressions. I got 1-2 subs after 200 views and a few likes, so better than adwords I guess, even got some funny comments but its just not worth it. >.>

Oh well~ We learn from our mistakes. Just don't repeat it and be more cautious next time. Good luck with your channel ^^

May I ask how much you paid for 4chan, and how expensive it is in general? I would like to give this a try. It's interesting to see each community's mentality and interests.

I honestly don't remember. I just remember that I was paying almost the same for adwords(which I also don't remember how much) but it got me less views. The last I tried any paid advertising was around 8 months ago. I don't know if there's any changes but that was my experiences.
