Good quality online voice recording

So our youtube channel is a few friends playing games online together, but the voice quality over xbox live is terrible. Are there any decent methods to get better quality audio over the net? I was considering skype, but I don't know how well that would work for us.

I'm thinking skype may actually be the only logical option we have. Shame there isn't a magical application that does everything I want in the way I want it done.

Although yes, Mumble may be worth a shot. I had forgetten it existed.
 
Skype is okay, and a lot of gamer (or in general) have Skype. As far as for Ventrilo, TeamSpeak or Mumble, they're good VoIP programs. However, I don't think a lot of people know what they are, and I don't think they want to sign up for an account (lazy).
 
I use skype but it's bad because someone needs to be a host of the call and if nobody has a good internet you'll notice sound changes every now and than. TeamSpeek should be the best solution.
 
Teamspeak is a good option, have some friends playing using that software, it's really clear and crisp even if you have a generic headset. Though, I think you need to pay for a server every month.

There are a lot of servers you can use for free+if you don't want to use public ones you can make server on your computer. There's no need to buy server.

I think you need a fast internet so you can have consistent servers. Well, sadly, my country is third in slowest.xD
