Good editing software

if you want to pay monthly Adobe Premiere pro is the best in my opinion. It takes a while to get use to it but once you are you'll love it.

Free: Windows Movie Maker, or whatever comes with a Mac

Cheap: Sony Movie Studio Platinum

Full Priced: Sony Vegas or Adobe Premier Pro.

As someone who does freelance editing work and has used a wide variety of video editing software, I can absolutely, 100% promise you that Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 will give you the most bang for your buck. It doesn't have all the features of the Vegas suite, but I bet you any amount of money you won't need the features it doesn't have.

Hope that helps.

Premiere Pro. Its super powerful (though occasionally buggy) and in my opinion really easy to use. Price wise, your looking at a monthly subscription which might be off putting, though you can do a 30 day trail.

I've tried multiple free software and I can conclusively say that they're all rubbish, I can't say for the freeby that comes with Apple computers that does seem decent but obviously restricted to Apple.

Yeah but for someone who's only editing video for a hobby, premier pro is way out of anyone's price range. It'd be a different story if you were making serious coin from your videos and a suite like PP can be seen as an investment.

The best free software you'll get is either Hitfilm 4 Express or Lightworks, although Hitfilm is much, much easier to work with.

It can do pretty much anything you'd need for basic editing, and has a lot of neat effects/features as well.
(Also, it's ages ahead of the awful WMM)

Sony vegas, easy to use, easy to download from torrents
Yar har fiddle dee dee....

I make no money currently from my videos, I don't believe in monetising videos with only 35 subs, but if you care for your hobby you'd invest into it. Again, the trail is there to see if its right for you.

Or you can torrent....if thats your thing, I don't endorse this.
