Karac Cano

Professional procastenator
Buying a IMAC 27" should I buy from the Apple store, best buy, computer store, and or third party, recommended specs for Mainly Video and photo editing as well as GFX for videos... And being able to smoothly run an online empire from home.
any preferences on ram, gpu, cpu, hard drive space... and any other general advice for getting a rig that will last me some years and still be able to edit...

It'd be best to build your own PC
Personally I wouldn't recommend windows for editing only for gaming and I have built a rig for that I feel though Mac was made for editing and that it does it way better for that reason.[DOUBLEPOST=1417379887,1417379824][/DOUBLEPOST]

I didn't say anything about windows, I just said to build your own PC (Personal Computer)

However, windows is amazing for anything.

I agree with @LyfeWithDragons honestly, you can build a custom PC that can give a higher performance than a Mac, and even less costing too. All it is they are on different operating systems, but a Mac will cost you more. The good thing too is that it's easy to upgrade a PC later on rather than having to buy a whole new one. I just think you'd be better off with a PC :P

Canon or Nikon? Just a question.

Depends on what you want to get out of the shot, I guess. Every brands, and model has their pros and cons. It's funny you ask that because I'm currently looking into getting my first DSLR, and I have no idea what to get, haha. xD

Before I was going to build an editing rig, i7,gtx 970,16GB ram.... but I liked the Mac feel and style also there built in software I prefer mac for editing and windows for internet and gaming. Why not have both.[DOUBLEPOST=1417380397,1417380332][/DOUBLEPOST]

I mean heck, if you wanted, you could partition the hard drive and have both Windows, and Mac. Also, you'd be better off with a solid state drive.
