Girls and Youtube

No, your missing the point! It's not because their female, it's because of the image of the female, as I've put in some post back, I seen gamer men used images of young girls to grab subs...

Being female myself I don't have a load of subs at my channel. the reason? well first there are no images of me up! And maybe they just don't like my let's plays Lol...

As I will say again it's more easy to sell your look, then you personality...

It's true that most people only sub to girls because they are girls :/

I agree... I've put up a thread about this before as well.
I want people to sub to me for "me". Sure, they may hear my voice, or see my pink-infested avatar and realize I'm a female, then subscribe based on that; but I'm not looking to draw people in using the female-image aspect of myself... I'm not hating (at all) on other females that do have an image up, nor am I suggesting that one should deny they are female to avoid it all together--that would be silly because you ARE female. It's just that I, personally, want to prevent that factor to my channel.

You have pretty good videos but if you look at the general population of girls on youtube with their terrible very low effort videos get a lot of subs because they are girls.

Well if a girl feels she needs to post herself up all over her channel, for let's say like a gaming channel! Then before any one subs maybe they should check out the gaming content first? I want people to like my content, not my pretty face :D
But if a girl feel it's going to work and if a few men fall for it? Then the people you should be upset with are not the girls, but the males that go for it...

This is a non-offensive, very straight to the point thread.

When I look through some comments on youtube, even if they lack humor, whit, ect... if they are written by a cute/hot girl, it's all thumbs up.

I notice girls getting tons of views from content that is completely sub-par. By no means BAD, but you wouldn't think it would be taking in this much attention. Even if the content is terrible, they just upload videos of themselves dressed in a somewhat.... "open" manner, they still make money off of guys simply clicking it because they find them hot.

A video that infuriated me (Cannot find it now) was a video of this girl going "And why do you like my videos!!!??, is it because I'm funny, or awesome, or, ect, ect". As she is saying this, some dude, out of the frame, is pushing her boobs up and down.

I know people found it funny, but it make me think "Yeah, people are out there busting their asses to make videos, to show off their talent and find followers. Yet just because of this talentless, annoying, obnoxious, and trashy girl's genetics, she takes in millions of views for dressing like a **** and has zero f*****g talent."

Now as I said before, by NO MEANS am I picking on girls.

But really, is it easier for girls to start youtube channels if they're attractive?

Seeing as that I’m a girl who is on Youtube I’d definitely have to agree with you guys. A majority of the top you-tubers are definitely males, and the majority of female you-tubers that manage to make it to the top tier are beauty gurus like Macbarbie07 and Michelle Phan. Personally I think more girls do need to get over what fear or anxieties they may have about starting a channel and just DO IT. That’s what I had to do anyway. Even though I’m definitely not at the top yet i hope to be someday. And it’s be great to see many other girls up there with me that aren’t just talking about beauty things (not that I don’t like that), but that are actually making comedies/commentaries/vlogs. :)

Being a girl on YouTube might make the initial click easier but keeping the audience might not be as easy. I mean if you're just vlogging about nonsense then maybe people will come back for more but if you're reviewing comics like me, guys (the main audience) want a girl reading a script that a guy wrote. They don't want a "girl's opinion" on their favorite books.

I watch shows with girls ranting/raving about stuff that was scripted for them and I get very irritated. Some dude is just hiding behind the curtain moving a breasty puppet.

That is THE hardest part of YouTube is starting your channel with your first actual face to camera post.. and 2nd challenge is being consistent. I was SO nervous posting my first few videos, even talking to my camera is still really awkward. I assume it gets better with time but it's still awkward.

I am going to make some girly videos.. fun tags and stuff like that. But keep in mind most of the videos that are posted under the beauty / guru forum are repeats on repeats on repeats. I want my channel to be different (and I assume everyone on YouTube does) but you gotta think outside of the box in order to achieve individuality instead of doing 'My Foundation Routine' for the millionth time.
