Getting out there is creepy, yet fulfilling. What do you think?

Hello there!
Lately, I have been getting visitors on my latest videos from Youtube search much more than before. As much as I am so happy that this is happening because I know that I am on a right track as my goal is to really entertain as many people as possible. Yet, I find it quite frightening. My likes are going up along with the dislikes, but that makes me worried if my content is really that good enough. Now I don't go into depression when I see a new dislike and all that, but I am just worried. I am aiming to always improve, but what annoys me. Is that whenever I get dislikes, all the comments are filled with positive ones. Not a single comment about feedback or hate or anything to explain the dislikes.

So, I want to know how would you guys feel? If you are starting to get exposure from people outside this forum and outside any other forum. Would you feel worried of your content? Would you accept them with wide arms? Or would you find it terribly stressing and creepy? I would really love to know your opinion!

Dislikes can be for any reason. I think the main one (outside of trolls) is when someone clicked on a video and it wasn't what they thought it would be. That's not something you can control at all, so don't let it stress you out.

There's no way, when you're dealing with the public-at-large, to control how they'll feel about you and your work. Putting yourself and your art/commentary/self in front of others is a brave act, and it's not for everyone. So don't let dislikes get you down. They're part of the whole process of taking a step in front of the world, and for that, you should be commended.

Nah i mean we all put our content out for people we dont know to see so its never even been something ive thought about.

Of course I can not control the public, but I can improve. Like we take Nicole Arbour as an example. She was brave and all, but her content is s**t, she is a terrible person and that's why everyone hates her. Of course she is doing something wrong there to get such hate, and I think it is pretty clear with her case. So this is my point. I might not be able to stop everyone from disliking my videos. But I can work on improving some factors to reduce that type of stuff.[DOUBLEPOST=1459463897,1459463768][/DOUBLEPOST]

In my opinion, there is a huge difference between sharing your content with a couple of content creators and with thousands of viewers. Being at the top of the search means that people expect perfect quality, and if they are disappointed. Probably that will not be well reflected on your video/channel. While content creators understand that a new Youtuber is working to improve and all.

It is 100% a very scary thing, essentially what you are doing is putting up a real big part of you and your creations up for people to judge so freely. There will always be people out there that will dislike your stuff but definitely don't be discouraged by that, it's all a normal part of life. Your content is more than good enough from what I can see and it's those people that love what you do that you should be looking to keep on entertaining!

Usually when people dislike, they like to do it anonymously because they are scared to have their identities known unlike yourself by doing what you do, so already, you are a lot more brave than they are. It's easy to sit behind the curtain and hurl negativity towards someone else rather than to be the one acting on stage.

For me personally, it is definitely a very scary thing but I love that fear. I lived a lot of my life afraid of being in the lime light because of the fear of being judged but I reached a point not too long ago where I had enough and it was time to live my life my own way and I haven't looked back since :). Wish you the best of luck with keeping on going with your channel dude, you got this :)

I agree with you on everything. An additional thing that might get hate to my channel are my criticism videos. I address some random issue, talk about it in a funny manner but still maintaining a goal of delivering why that "something" is bad. One of those videos received a ton of dislikes, and that is why I am worried. All my other videos had barely any dislikes. So I might just say that the people I addressed became cry babies and went full on rage, disliking my video in a batch, or I can attempt to know if there is any issue. Apparently, it seems like there is none. So yea, I guess I have to deal with this.

Thing is I had no clue this place even existed, it was only when I found it like 2 weeks ago did I start using it so since I always knew I was going to be possiobly watched by thousands of people on youtube it never really bothered me. I think lucky enough for me I dont worry about hate because most of it is fabricated to get me to react so I dont pay attention to it and dislikes dont really bother me either I wont loose sleep because one guy decided he saw my channel and didn't like it haha.

I'm always scared of things like DDOXing etc. but there's not a lot I can do about that.
As for being creeped out? I've really not had any weird comments or anything. It did feel super strange when I got added on facebook by 2 people that I thought I may have known since we had mutual friends. Turns out they were both really big fans LOL. But that didn't creep me out at all, It completely made my year xD but yeah, got to be careful who I add in future just incase.

Yea, in a way it definitely scares me to think about how my channel would do if a lot more people would start watching. I'm always thinking ''Am I actually good?'', ''Am I just actually cringey?'' or ''What if everyone hates my videos?''. And just the thought of people finding where I live or something weird like that is scary for everyone I think. People can sniff out info about you very easily, as I've noticed.
Right now I'm actually happy to have a very small but nice group of people to watch me, until I figure out where my channel is headed to and improve my content, so I dont end up on ''r/cringe'' or something ;D

Yea... I think it's kind of backwards YouTube logic, but when some of my videos started to get more views, I got self-conscious and didn't really want to post music videos anymore. I didn't think my videos were good, and they were definitely not worth how many likes and views they were getting.. >.> But I think I'm over those feelings now. I'll just post whatever and roll with it. lol ^-^
