Getting an original channel URL?

Hey Folks!

So I know you used to be able to have your own custom URL? However now it's different. Is there any way to get around this, or is it even possible anymore?

Sorry if there is an obvious answer to this, I just have no clue.

Thanks,

Britt.

From what I know, you can customize URL after gaining 500 subs. I did it on my main channel years ago, so it might have changed.

Well since 2015 January (I hope I am not wrong), they have made custom url available for those above 500 subs :D
Do you know if that is available for people who already have custom URLs once they reach that 500 subs?

Because when I originally made my account TALOOKA was taken so I settled for TAIOOKA but it looks like that no longer exists and I'd love to get TALOOKA

Ya offcoarse when we reach 500 subs. We get this opportunity :)

It would suck if there is another BrendenTurtle out there and they get to 500 first xD Stil pretty mad google did away with custom URL's,it makes crap a lot more harder.

You don't need 500 subs if you have a website and link it to your google plus page. I highlighted the relevant section below and also included a link below that to instructions for linking your website with your Google Plus page:

How to link your website to your Google plus page - https://support.google.com/business/answer/4569085?rd=1[DOUBLEPOST=1436027262,1436026683][/DOUBLEPOST]I just did it with a YT channel I have 0 subscribers on. Warning...your Google+ Page Custom URL will end up being your Youtube channel URL. This is an issue because Google plus, if I remember, is a pain in the neck when allowing you to choose a custom Google Plus page. Sometimes they do not offer you your actual name as a page URL and make you add something to it.
