I think to help out all of us here, you might want to make a more in depth guide with some reasoning on your point? I can see a lot of people reading this, creating an instagram, and then not really doing anything with it. The points you have made, as helpful as they can be, are just too empty. If you have some more information, it could really help all of us :D

I have thought about instagram but I don't post pictures of what I eat or take pictures of myself, I also run a gaming channel so I don't really know how to work with it, unless I used it like Tumblr which doesn't work that well anyways.

Same, I have a tumblr and twitter, and although I have a few tumblr followers, my vids tend to be uploaded by others and of course those are the ones that get like 100,000 reblogs  not that I mind as it's the video views that really count, but it could help my cause if they knew I had an official tumblr.

I also have a facebook that seems to be the collective of the fans of my original stuff mostly, which is awesome to see them as a little group :D

as for twitter, the only people that follow me on there are friends of mine, and people that like my art, very little from YouTube at all. So is instagram worth it? what does it do that the other sites I mentioned don't?

I do art, so that might help, since I believe it's a photo-centric site.

And I am going to call "b******t" here. It's another medium yes, but initially only those that already know about your channel will follow your instagram. Just like YouTube you need to work at it to have any form of benefit from it.

I'd say for art it'd work too. I mean most of my successful posts on Tumblr are just pics that I found funny and decided to throw up on Tumblr and others are reblogged art.

Not really, as the op said to follow people randomly to get people following you back. It's a very effective method on Tumblr since communication isn't really a big thing on there, although if you're inactive for even a few days it all goes down the drain.

Good idea. I know instagram is popular but I have never used it. Would be nice to see a guide on it. I still have not installed it as I do not use my smartphone a lot for social media.
