Get More Views On Youtube - Advanced Tips

Josh Keatley

I've Got It
Tips
1. Timing is everything -
You need to talk about hot topics when they are brand new! When a new game comes out, something amazing happens, or big news breaks out.. jump on it. Don't be months late talking about something many people have all ready covered.

2. Search for your video before you make it -
If you know what your video is going to be about go ahead and start searching for similar videos on youtube. Watch as many videos that you can about your topic and add what you like and don't like about those videos to your video. Make your video 20 times better than the competitions videos. Try different keywords to find the videos with the most views. This helps you talk about things in your video that are very searchable on youtube. Work hard to get your keywords to your video in the top 5 vids of that popular search.

3. Push keywords -
Constantly type in those keywords to your video and watch it 100%. Make google adwords video campaigns with those keywords searches. Have friends type in those keywords and watch your video 100%.

4. Have amazing thumbnails -
Constantly push yourself to get better and better at making thumbnails. Do research on what thumbnails work well for others. Constantly watch videos learning everything that you can possibly do in your photo editing program to make amazing thumbnails. How To Make AMAZING Youtube Thumbnails -

5. Networking -
Make many youtube friends that can give you advice, you can collaborate with, and share fans.

6. Listen to your biggest fans - Take time every once in a while to play or talk with your biggest fans. They will give you the best feedback about what they really like and don't like about your channel. They will give you very valuable insight of what they would like to see more videos of.

I really hope these tips really help you out on youtube! Thanks!

Your welcome. I think these tips will really help you out! Let me know if any work for you.

Networking is really the way to go, constant motivation, and talking in groups really gets the blood flowing.
Very true. Having youtube friends really helps you be better at youtube by giving and listening to friends advice and mistakes. They help motivate you and sharing fans is really awesome!

Definitely some good tips there! I agree with thumbnails being very important, because that tends to be the deciding factor on which series I pick if multiple people are covering that topic :)

great tips i agree with a lot of what u said timing is everything cant be late to the party ahah
That was one of my biggest mistakes when I first started youtube. I was putting out "how to" videos months late and wasn't getting very many views. Getting your how to videos out early will help your chance of getting on the 1st page of that search

The picking what video to watch process is really fast and the great thumbnails will always win! I credit that to my top 10 videos with over 100k views is amazing thumbnails that scream click me! :-) LOL
Thank you for taking the time to write this ! Very helpful
Your welcome!

Honestly I'm not sure what everyone is talking about, everything but #3 is common sense, the only way I see this as a helpful post if either people have connected to the interntet for the first time and have literaly no common sense or just a reminder for people to pay attention to pretty much everything. I really don't understand why people are replying that this is very helpful, to increase post count I guess?

#3 is the only one worth discussing, again everything else is either common sense or self promotion. I'd like to know if it does really work, if you ask your friends to search for those specific keywords and they look for your video, click it, and watch it 100%, like it, comment and etc... Does that really work? In theory, that's how youtube should function, have you had any success with it OP?

Did you watch the video that goes with these tips?... It is on my signature and explains all the tips in detail. You really don't understand these things and you need to work on them.

How many youtube networking friends do u have? 2 of the 3 channels in your sub box look like your secondary channels that have no videos or subscribers. Fill your sub box up with real youtube friends. Actually network with your youtube friends by collaborating and help each other grow.

90% percent of your videos our not searchable. Who is typing in gameplay #1? What is each video about? What happens in the video? Pick a title that people will search and will want to see.

Don't be late on games. Your putting out videos months late. That is exactly what I am talking about NOT to do. Averaging 20-30 views on a new vid is not good for someone who has been on youtube more than 2 years. Just sayin.

Your thumbnails are good but they can be better. Do more research on what works well. Having better video titles will make your thumbnails 100% better too.

Do you ever play with your fans? Talk to them on a regular basis? Get great feedback from them? I am not talking about in the comment section either.

To answer your question, yeah it works. The new youtube algorithm ranks videos higher that have a higher view time. When people type something in the search then click on your video and watch the video all the way to the end that tells google/youtube that your video is more important for those keywords than other videos with low view times. I still do this all the time because it helps me physically see where my videos are showing up in the searches. If a competitors video has almost the exact same stats those keyword 100% views could put you right above a competitors video on the keywords.
