Gaming Videos or IRL Videos?

I don't know what that is the best thing to post on YT.

I have done gaming videos in more than a year now with some few vlogs sometimes (1 a month)
But kinda got the impression that everyone DO gaming videos because its easy to record and funny. (free software, just need a decent pc)

Just thought the audience to IRL stuff are everyone because everyone can relate to IRL things and many people are interested in it. And there is not as many content creators for IRL stuff than Gaming. And if you have a good idea to do, it should be easier to get out there than gaming videos.

This was just something i thought about, i really want to hear your opinions about the topic. Standing with 2 different ways to go right now on YT but can't decide.

Try to find thee trends these days and create a video about it.
My channel is supposed to be only mainly about gaming but because of trends and suggestions I also created Hilarious Real Life Videos :D

I don't see why you couldn't do both really. I mean maybe you could have a schedule and be like "mondays we game, thursdays we vlog" you know? The biggest thing with that imo is to make sure you do it from day one. What's gonna kill your channel is getting an audience used to one thing, then suddenly changing it to something else. But as long as you're doing it the same way from the get go, people should be fine with it. If they don't like the gaming, they can just ignore that upload day.

Symph is right. Even if your a pure gaming channel you gotta mix it up. Not everyone wants to watch minecraft videos everyday.

Realistically gamers are marathon watchers. Make sure all your videos are in playlist in correct order. More variety you got the better spread audience wise. Thats mainly for if you play linear games though.

People that play games are very specific with their watching. They watch for a walkthrough, a review, or maybe they watch Let's Plays like a TV show almost (hence YogsCast). As an audience member you will never get equal distribution per series. If you only do Minecraft you are alienating yourself to only that, but if you add in another game you enjoy like GMOD, Team Fortress 2, LOL, WOW, or DOTA then you also bring those audiences. Use your channel like a TV station. Not everyone is trying to watch the same thing all the time.

Do a vlog channel with a weekly gaming series. Exp: "RICHIE PLAYS: blahblah" with a game that's popular that week.
