Gaming permissions

Hello guys.

I've started recording some game plays, and I was wondering do I need permission from the developers to publish it? I know music Is a big no If you don't have the rights, but what about game footage?

To publish not really, because many developers give you the rights to make videos, but to monetize is an other question. Some developers don't want you to make money of their content.

Kind of lazy but i just kind of replyed to this lol, So ill paste it in

Hey man yea, most games are fine to do videos on as long as you have commentary over them while you play them,. You can still cut them in and out to your own demise. Make sure you only have the game sounds over the top etc unless you have non copyrighted music playing with your commentary

You only need to watch out on doing videos for games is when they are new or in beta. You need to check they allow you to record videos of there games.

You can just search The game name on YouTube and if it on there on other peoples channels your pretty safe!

Always check the developer/publisher website to see if they allow publishing of the video at least. If you can't find anything, email them.[DOUBLEPOST=1388407777,1388407729][/DOUBLEPOST]
Battlefield 4
EA allow you to publish, to monetise you need to email them.

If this gets removed then this site is ridiculous in so many ways. This is the definitive source for finding out whether a certain developer is fine with your youtube videos or not.

You usually can just go to their website, and click terms of use. You can find out there :D
