This is the situation i found myself in when i first started youtube , do i do gaming and get a capture card or do i do pranks and challenges , i chose pranks mainly because i enjoy doing pranks and challenges and plus you guys like it to but when you do decide what to do stick with it , Gaming is fun to do because your playing your console and showing off what you can do but i must stress thats where more haters come into play because if your not amazing at the game then people will try showing you up thats just the way it is now but to me it doesnt matter if your good or amazing or even bad if thats what you enjoy go and do it , on ther other hand if your camera shy but want to be infront of the camera just test yourself do some practice videos and look back on them and see what you can improve but mainly just have fun , you can also set up 2 channels a gaming and a camera one that is what im looking at in the future
Hope this helped :)

comparing the two i would say vlogging is best because audience can look up to you more and know who you are and the personality you have. Gaming however is just plain.

I do think vlogging is more interesting in that you can get a look at who's talking, and really have a better connection with them over just hearing their voice on a game. But yeah, I've set up two separate channels for Gaming and Vlog-ish stuff. Though my main focus for now, and probably the next few years, will be my vlogging channel.

Personally I would say not gamming! There's WAY too many gaming channels!

Gaming I find to be much more difficult, though also a lot of fun at the same time! Lately I've been finding myself with a ton of ideas with vlogging though I've been putting all of my vlogs and gaming related content in the exact same channel. Now that I'm possibly going back to school in a few weeks, gaming related content will be much tougher though a vlog is something I can always relate and make a quick video if I have something on my mind.

I would say this: if you like to entertain people, continue gaming. If you like to voice your own opinions, go with a vlog. Or even do both! Though I would recommend making two separate channels. Lastly though, ignore the haters. That's something all YouTubers have to deal with and they are just expressing their opinions in a negative manner. Just keep up with what you are doing and stay positive!
