I love long RPGs but I am finding I draw way more viewers in with videos 15 min and under, So I will continue my Longer Let's Play's but have added a series called 'Whaaaaatsss This" where I keep it under 10 min, what do you prefer when watching gameplay YT videos?

If you aren't a game vid fan I understand, this Q isn't for you.

Thanks Kindly.

I usually don't bother watching anything longer than 15 minutes, unless it's something that really interests me straight away. I just don't have time to watch videos of that length, if I want to watch it I'd have to make time for it, so it'd have to be something special if it's over 15 minutes. I prefer recording longer gameplays though usually.

If it's a new series or a channel I'm checking out the videos I'm watching usually are 15 mins or less. I'm only willing to watch videos longer than 15 mins if I'm invested in the series or it's about a topic I really want to watch.

I think it's tough for people to watch longer than 10 to 15 minute videos (even longer than 5 minutes sometimes) which I've never understood. I watched a 2 hour video earlier this morning, didn't bat an eye. I want 25-35min episodes DAILY from people who upload daily, multiple people. No clue why people ONLY like short stuff, I'm not normal?

To answer your question, I believe the general rule of them is shorter is better. Try 10-15 minutes, and as you grow an audience ask if they want longer episodes.

I know one YouTuber who has around 80k subs now who did 10-15min episodes of a game, and comments told him to make longer ones so he did only at that point.

When I first meet a new channel I want a 3-5 min and under video to kind of get a glimpse of what the person's like. If I want more, I look for a compilation to see what that person has done and explore what kind of content they tend to create. If I love a channel I will spend hours at a time watching playlists. Hell I play videos I like on playlists as background noise a lot of the time when I'm working on other stuff, because I want to support the channel.

Well it depends. If you are playing games with stories and stuff like that, long videos are perfect for it because the viewer want to know what will happen next. The short videos are for games like CS:GO and games like it because there are very similar things in it.I know from personal experience.

Many regards,

10-15 definitely seems to be my attention span and a lot of others. I also find it harder to keep a game interesting when you are recording for longer then that.

It's difficult to say... It really depends on who is watching! If I just stumbled upon your channel I don't really want to see a 30min video.. I want to know what kind of person you are, so highlights/short and sweat vids. are what I would be looking for, but if you have a established/neash audience around longer video let's plays then stay with that! If you are still small and love making the longer ones you can also try doing both so you cater to both audience's, but that's is more work and if you have a job that means you have less time so yeah... Hopefully this helps
