Gaming Channels.

Am I the only one annoyed with the over saturation of gaming channels, I'm just saying there are some successful ones but then there's just the lets play channels who all do the same thing, do you think gaming on youtube is dying?
 
Yeah the gaming community has A LOT of channels, which makes it harder for them to get noticed and famous! I´m guessing a lot of them is hoping to be the next Pewdiepie!
I´m guessing it´s the same with travel videos as well!
 
I personally really don't get the gamming channel thing. I'm not a gamer I'm sure many people here play more games in a day than I do in a year. but I get playing video games. watching someone else play video games I just don't understand what the appeal is?

I disagree, in sports you watch to see which team or player can out-play another, in e-sports its the same thing which is why I'm a big advocate of e-sports. However my complaint is with lets-players with non-personalities that each make the same content as one another, and also provide an experience that can be more personally felt by just buying a game.
 
In general, yes.

I'm guilty of that myself. I started doing some stuff using "The Movies" (that died as soon as I updated to Windows 10 and "The Movies" just doesn't work on my machine any more), and "Minecraft" (After the fifth video in, I stopped doing that one too. I couldn't bear to to another "Let's Play Minecraft!").

I watched Achievement Hunter for a while and lost interest.

That said, I can't stand "Let's Play..." vids.

What I really interests me are the vids that talk about the game creators. The human angle. That stuff I can watch without going into a coma.
 
In terms of quantity gaming is thriving on Youtube. In terms of quality it has been dead for quite a while. Let's face it, gaming is a limited market in terms of creative freedom. You can do your roleplay stuff, montages, let's plays, playing the game with a weird kind of control mechanic and all that, but you can't just stomp new things out of nothing as the game is your baseline. There is nobody that has been doing anything new in the gaming section, which is why horrible content like theonemanny is able to thrive. People are so bored out of their goddamn mind that they are blown away by a dude who uses some software to make himself look like a talking dog. That is what gaming on YT (and Twitch) is nowadays. People playing silly characters to set themselves apart.
 
I gave gaming a try, but there are just so many of them that it's not worth getting into unless you like to have low view counts for eternity. Branch out and do something you are passionate about instead!
