Gaming Channels

Here comes my confession, Gaming Channels are cliché, everyone does em and only few manage to succeed in doing it. I hate ALOT and I mean ALOT of gaming channels which either try too hard to be enthousiastic or just act like the cool guy in the video, now dont get me wrong, I am a gaming channel myself but I want myself to be more of a comedy channel than a gaming channel, people should watch because the combination of the person behind the pc and the games they are playing should be flawless and good for anyone to watch. In theory it seems so easy, but I honestly think that I still suffer every video, not being the way I want to be.
 
We see people like pewdiepie and markI plier and people want to do that and not everyone can be like that so they fake it. Its better to be yourself and people will come. I don't consider myself funny and still surprised people sub and watch my videos. Also not everyone that does gaming do it for the right reasons a lot do it to be famous. I don't want Hollywood fame I just want to play video games
 
I'm gonna be honest here, and this is gonna surprise some of ya. Gaming isn't my favorite genre to watch on Youtube. It's actually Comedy. Part of that is because it's so interesting. Most gaming channels I see are all nothing but Let's Plays. When I started this channel, I knew that it would not go anywhere if all I did was do Let's Plays let alone LPs of one game. Yeah, I had a friend who has 59k subs who got famous off of that, but that was 4 years ago. I had to do something a little out of the box. That's where I came up with reviews, news, and the pokemon niche kinda latched on to me early (150 views on literally my first pokemon video I made) and we haven't let go since.
 
Its a matter of opinion thats the beauty of youtube..

If for instance you (and many people like you) do not like gaming channels thats your issue - not the channel in question. Personally I like making gaming videos and i will continue as guess what? Making gaming videos is my hobby :)
 
It's not that I dislike gaming channels. I just wish that there was something a little different, mix it up, maybe blend genres a little bit. I notice some top gaming channels do that too.
 
Gaming channels are what I primarily watch but the quality of gaming channels that I see coming onto the seen are slowly decreasing. No one is doing anything I havent seen before, Fallout 4, Minecraft, Mad Max, Phantom Pain, everything. I havent seen anyone in a while who has made go "this is different" I have seen some channels start a random series for example a N64 game which is a great view, as some people at this day and age have no idea what an N64 is.

Overall I like the gaming community but we are SUPER f*****g stale right now #Fallout4

Its because everyone wants views and the big idea is that you get more views with a new game. Goat Simulator taught people that. I started to fall into that trap as well because it is a trap. If you play only games that come out when the come out your videos will get lost in the shuffle with everyone else. Yes I like playing new games and I am loving fallout, but I decided recently that I am just gonna play what I want play for the channel not just because it came out. I think in that respect it may help more since I am playing to enjoy the game not just get a quick few views from a new title.
 
A similar thing but i'm going to be recording from my PS1 shortly (hopefully) just to try and be a bit different. The way i see it, that has two benefits. I get to play my favourite old games again and i get to share them with people online :)
