The interesting thing is that most of these gaming channels are there without much commentary or poor commentary. But thats not what we have hear at YTTalk. Everyone here is pretty awesome...... Despite being *cough*competition*cough* Awesome!

I wouldn't say everyone...

I think it depends, gaming requires a good microphone and recording if you want a good quality video. And I'm not just talking about PC games, what about the console ones? You're gonna need an HD Capture Card if you want people to watch, and this is just assuming you have engaging commentary.

Vloggers need a camera for good quality, and they need to look good as well.

I think vlogging is generally easier; when people are actually making a good quality gaming video, and not just recording and going, then it takes longer. Especially when it comes to the editing.

You always need good audio. Audio is more important than video cause people are less forgiving about it. It's easier to record good audio for a gaming video than for a vlog cause you can put your mic pretty much where ever you want it without it being in frame, so you can get a lot closer which makes recording a lot easier...

And a HD capture card is still cheaper than a good camera.

When taken seriously, gaming commentary has its own unique skill set.

For example: The ability to heighten on-screen drama and events instantly as they occur, sometimes unknowingly, is a skill that needs to be mastered.

There are many techniques required to do gaming videos well.

Anyone can record a game, but few work at improving and identifying the Business of gaming videos.

Very true. For gaming and vlogging and everything else.

Being honest, there is definitely some bias when it comes to one side exclaiming if it's harder for them to make videos than the other. Each side doesn't understand what the other needs in order to create a good quality video, once someone has done both, then they can make a decision of which one is harder to produce videos for.

Yup. It's because they all got inspired by big gaming channels like Syndicate, Whiteboy7thst, Woodys Gamertag, Yogscast (I think), SkyDoesMinecraft, ChimneySwift11, etc. And they wanna be like them.
