Gamers please help

Ok gamers, so I'm sure this has been asked 1-million times, but I am purchasing software for someone who is a gamer, and would like your opinions on the best screen recording software for

• PC
• Windows 8
• laptop with touchscreen

Something that can record in realtime directly from the screen, and can record audio is what he wants, and that will not have lag problems. It needs to be able to export for editing in Adobe CC.

First of all, what is he recording from, a capture card or from PC? The only ones that i know of for recording PC gameplay are as follows:

FRAPS,
Dxtory,
Camtasia studio,
Bandicam,
Hypercam,

Out of those, Dxtory is probably your best option for recording gameplay, Bandicam for recording anything on your screen - doesnt lock to game windows only.

All of those will record WINDOWS sound ONLY (game sound) so you will have to download something like Audacity (free) to record microphones - its what i, as well as 80% of youtubers use.

Thanks for the response. Yes, he will be recording directly from PC as described in my original post. As far as audio capture, he can always record into a seperete recorder that we have and sync up the audio later in Adobe. He just wants to be able to create some gameplay videos for his channel, mainly Minecraft.

Then choose one of the softwares i mentioned in my previous post - Fraps being the easiest one to use, however, not the best. As i stated, Dxtory is the best one but is more complicated in terms of use. It has far more settings on it which can look very daunting and immidating at first, but it is the best one on the market as far as i am aware. I use it for my PC gameplay sometimes.

I might be a bit late but Bandicam can record your voice as well... If you want better quality I would suggest going with an external one.

I use Fraps most of the times to record my gameplays and RecordPad Sound Recorder to record my voice. The setup works pretty well for me.
However, if you need more options, you can go for Bandicam or Dxtory. Have fun!

I might be a bit late but Bandicam can record your voice as well... If you want better quality I would suggest going with an external one.

That is as far away from the truth as you can get.
With both fraps and dxtory you can record both windows sounds AND your microphone. (or is this what you ment by windows sound only?) (Only ever used those)
With FRAPS, the sound and voice are saved one one single audio file, so you can not really edit out unwanted sounds without also removing wanted voice that is also in that section.

With Dxtory you can record EIGHT individual sound files, which leaves you able to edit the in-game sounds and voices rather easily.

For example (dxtory(Imagine this in an editing software like Sony Vegas))

You can increase volume in parts you need it to be louder (f.ex. talking characters)
Or you need to lower the volume in intense action scenes, without also lowering the volume on your voice.
