Gamers, How much time do you put into recording?

I put in maybe 2 hours when i record but what my friend does and it's really good he goes ingame one day records a whole bunch of footage like all day then he uses all of that and commentates over that or uses it for montages
 
Since I am a sketch/ personality channel it really comes down to what I'm shooting. If it's scripted out well I can push through pretty fast, but if not it takes a little longer. I actually spend a lot more time editing my footage after I have recorded it to make sure all the cuts are timed well.

For the music video I made, which is just about 4 minutes, I spent time to scout locations and what not then spent 3.5 hours shooting one day with my cast and another hour the next day doing solo shots. But then I spent close to 12 hours of editing it to make it look as perfect as possible (a lot of that time was color correction).
 
I actually dont keep track of time like when I play video games :P but recently I have been recording enough gameplay for 3-4 episodes.

I usually put in a solid 2-3hrs a day! Sometimes more if I'm really in the zone :)

Not at all! If you're enjoying what you're doing it shouldn't matter. Just don't push out all the content you record at once. Save some for the next day, and so forth, OR just have scheduled releases! Anymore than...2 vids max is too many to upload a day.
 
A 4 hour workday sounds nice :D

I tend you record in big chunkes and then I edit it into episodes and then I'll just have a lot to upload.

It really depends on the kind of channel you have. For gaming, yeah, 2 vids a day max is a lot, even if they are easy to edit. But it also wouldn't be good to add two 30 minute videos a day. There is an unwritten system of checks and balances when uploading videos.

For most other types of channels, except daily vlogging (Which I still find annoying, different topic though), posting even one video everyday is way too much, I think a good balance is one or two a week if you are up to that much, but if you want to thrive well one a week is great for most channels.
