Gameplay adsense?

Hi,

I want to make a gameplay video about Counter Strike Global Offensive with a mate recording us and the game together. We are not going to add any music(by royalty copyrighted),walktrought or tips about the game. Just random playing and talking in it. Is this allowed, because i read that a month ago the gameplay copyright changed? And is it still payed by adsense if monetized? Or is there any alternative for that?

Grtz

It is allowed and you can monetise it. To be sure, check the ToS on the Global Offensive site.

I can't seem to find the ToS of CS GO. Is it the same ToS of Valve if u know somehow?

If you are talking throughout the video and not showing any cut scenes, then you should be fine. This falls under fair use, and the only way you would not be able to do this is if it is prohibited by the ToS of the game. If you are truly worried, you can usually email developers of games (event the big ones), and they will tell you their policy on gaming with YouTube. Lastly, to take extra caution, you could remove the sound from the game and have the only sound in the video be your talking. This tends to make you much less likely to receive any copyright problems (although you should not anyways).

I wouldn't reccomend you to try make any money off your YouTube videos unless you become partnered with a network, althought it may fall under fair use it wouldn't be a good idea anyway. What I would do if I was you is to grow your channel and wait till you can try partner with a network of some sort. Zoomintv is not a bad network.

Now if your a smaller channel and you don't plan to try make money off a bunch of gaming videos this shouldn't be a big deal. But if you want to make gaming videos on YouTube and take this serisouly grow your channel and get partnered.
