Everybody who is just starting out with a gaming channel right now needs to bring something unique. New "lets play" only channels are pretty much not going to go anywhere fast anyway.
People who create great and original content will still be in a much better position to rise to the top.
Recording and editing on computer, adding detailed commentary, effects and producing high definition is going to completely blow the console recordings out of the water.
An influx of console recordings with short, unedited and unpolished gameplay is no threat to a legitimate gaming channel.
Anyway these new consoles will still be around in 5 years time doing the same kind of recordings, I know I would have gone through several pc upgrades in this time and can demolish consoles in terms of quality if i want to. They are no competition.
