Hey, just wanted to let y'all have a bit of ade for using Google+ the best you can for maximum exposure. Yes, we all hate how it was integrated into YouTube, but it does offer a few new ways to get exposure for your videos. Keep in mind, though, that there are rumors that Google is planning to reverse their decision to integrate Google+ in the near future. That being said, here are some reasons why Google+ can be very useful for gaining views, fans, and opportunities:
1. +1's
Google +1's are actually very important for your content. Why? Because they directly factor into search weight. That means that if you have two videos about "How to make chocolate pie," with the same general amount of views, same tags/description, same likes, same favorites, etc, you're going to see the one with more +1's on TOP of the other in the search rankings. If you start using G+ as a social media page for your channel (much like Facebook or Twitter), you'll start to see +1's coming in, which will boost your video's search rankings. Also, don't fret if most of your viewers don't use G+, as anytime someone clicks "like" on your video, it automatically gives your video a +1!
2. Communities
Communities are a very noteworthy feature on G+. Think of them like Facebook's groups, but more community-driven. You can find active communities for almost any subject, like game reviews, LPs, family vlogs, tech tutorials, or YouTube itself! Most of these communities allow you to post your own videos for feedback and exposure, but make sure that you read the rules first to make sure. In addition, keep in mind that it adds a comment to your video every time you post your video to a community. So this is best done when you're already getting some comments from other people, so you don't look like you're spamming your own comments section.
3. Better fan interaction
Believe it or not, a LOT of your viewers probably use Google+ as a social network. G+ is a great way to talk to your viewers outside of your channel, as it's completely integrated to YouTube. Any activity on your G+ page will count as channel activity, so you're going to start seeing search weight gains passively on your content. Plus,it may be easier for someone to get in contact with you. If a viewer has personally talked to a YouTuber, it makes them a bit more attached to that YouTuber, and more likely to watch more of his or her content.
Hope this helped!
