Freedom! Network Experience?

Freedom as in : freedom to take 40% of your Adsense revenue for nothing much in return?

Sounds about right...[DOUBLEPOST=1390131064,1390130979][/DOUBLEPOST]
For smaller channels it is quite good. Especially no-lock-in.
Curse has no lock-in.... while giving 90% of Adsense & Curse sold ads revenue...

Since I know someone who is with freedom with a decent channel I can give you some inside info.

The plus points:

-Managed partnership (if you have a channel with no copyright issues and know how copyright works)

-Very good support you can talk to the CEO anytime you want he is very responsive to any questions

-No lock in (leave anytime you want)

-While the base share is 60% the person that I know got a 90% share (it depends on your channel and quality of your channel)

Downsides:

-As mentioned before no AD Sales team but the CPM is not bad considering AdSense does have good CPM.

The major issue with Adsense, is mobile ads.

Out of mobile monetized Ads, Adsense only tends to fill 15-30%.

Which is why some channels have massive amounts of un-monetized views

Why is a Managed Partnership better than an Affiliated Partnership in your opinion?

The fact that i can talk to the CEO at anytime for my little channel problems is not a plus point in my opinion.
For me it looks like that they don't have a Professional trained support team of YouTube experts.
A CEO as different problems / stuff to deal with daily. Is okay if the CEO of a company takes some time everyday to talk to the Partners and maintain a good relationship with them.
But the fact that i can message him at anytime isn't good. He should take more care about the Development of the Business etc.

Why is a "No lock in" agreement a plus point?
The Networks need to think that you want to leave tomorrow. So why should they invest work / money to develop your Channel?
A network like Freedom does not provide you with any notable benefits apart from the magical Promotion so you get more Views, Custom Graphics and a Minecraft Server.
What i need from a Network is production help, cutter, Cameras, a Studio. And a network with "no lock in" agreements will never provide their averages partners access to professional facilities.

In my Opinion "no lock in" and the ability to talk to the CEO at any time aren't Plus points.
And saying a Managed Partnership is always better is a false statement as well.
A Managed Partnership can be better, but thats variates from case to case

The no lock-in does seem like a plus point to me, it says that they're confident that you will want to stay with them without having to tie you in to a long term contract. A two year contract with a network just means that the network has no motivation to help you in that two years because you can't leave even if they do a crap job.

Thats exactly what these companies want to get in your mind. And they get support by scam / money milking companies who just wanted quick, fast money.

But from the management point of view, Lock in Contracts are better for the Channels and for the Company. I could dig deeper in this but without a commercial college or business school degree its hard to understand.
To say is quickly "No Lock in is good" is just a marketing trick to get a lot of channel very fast and then sell the Company.
If you want to build a serious Network, you need to think in long terms. You cannot operate ideal because you have to think that you lose your full and only revenue stream in one day.
What would freedom do if all Partners would decide to leave in the next week? I know its unlikely, but that are important questions the Management and especially the Accounting department has to deal with.

If Fullscreen would use no lock in contracts, and everyone wants to leave tomorrow, 200 people would lose their job, the Us economy would lose millions of $ turnaround money. And thats what they have to think everyday at Fullscreen if they would use no lock in agreements.
You cannot seriously operate a Company with no guaranteed Revenue stream for a specific amount of days.

EDIT:
The Agreement should contain what the Network has to do and what not. If you write in the contract they have to do a good job. Then you can leave if they do a crap job.

How do these people even get a You Tube Partner Manager to help them? It's like trying to get an audience with the Pope!

If you want to make serious business, it's easy to get in touch mit Google / YouTube
If you are a channel with 5000 Subs who needs help, or a 12 year old kid who want to start a MCN, they will most likely don't give a F**K
