[Free Tool] Control your OBS overlay from your phone + Draw on Screen (Telestrator)

I wanted to share a tool I have been working on that might help those of you who use OBS for live streaming or recording gaming content.

It is called Poltergeist.

I built it because I saw a stream where the mods were messing around with the overlay and it added a fun element to the stream which I had not seen before.

What it does
It is a dashboard that runs in your web browser. You add a single link to OBS as a Browser Source. You can then open the dashboard on your phone, tablet, or laptop to control your stream overlay in real time.

Key features for YouTubers:

• Telestrator: You can draw on your screen live. This is really useful if you make tutorial videos, coaching content, or replay analysis and want to circle things on the screen while recording.
• Remote Soundboard: Trigger sound effects from your phone without needing to edit them in later.
• Safe for Streamers: If you have a moderator or a co-host, you can give them access to control the overlay from their own house. They can help run the production while you focus on the commentary, only YOU can change OBS settings.

How it works

1. Log in with your Google/YouTube account.
2. Copy the overlay URL into OBS (or StreamYard/Lightstream).
3. (OPTIONAL)Add moderators, turn them into producers.
4. Open the controls on your PC/tablet/phone.

It is completely browser-based, so you do not need to install any plugins or mess with websockets.
