Based on what you mentioned that you would like to be able to do...maybe YouTube's Video Editor or Windows Movie Maker would be your best bet until you can afford something better. Another option, or rather a less expensive option...just throwing it out there because most people have smartphones nowadays...if you have an iphone... there's an app called Splice which allows you to do all that you asked and little bit more. There's a free version and a pro which is only 3.99 in the app store...I imagine Android might have some apps as well, but I haven't had an android in a few years. I only make this suggestion because what you want to do doesn't seem like it would be editing intensive and require a computer...unless of course you dont' have a smart phone in which case Oops! and I = not helpful. Haha.
