free editing program?

is there decent free editing program for basic things like adding background music and texts into a video?

What's wrong with iMovie if you only need it for the basic things like that? I literally don't see why you would need another piece of software for basic things?

The new iMovie is actually pretty impressive in terms of basic video editing software.

You could always get the free trial of FCPX it's something like 30 days. But you'll be hard pushed to find decent free software (for mac) that works as well as iMovie and renders in decent times.
