Fraps or Audacity

Just recorded a 10+ minute video and it says it is going to take a few hours. I recorded the video and audio off of fraps, should i record the audio from audacity for quality or will it make the file larger or smaller.

using audacity will make the file size larger but the sound quality will be better and you can edit the audio using audacity and remove any background noise.

My vote goes for Audacity. That way you will be able to edit the voice audio separate from any other audio you record from your PC. (Noise Removal, Leveling, Compressing, Etc.)

If you want more control, Audacity. You'll have to merge and render later, but yeah. If you want to immediately throw up the file to YT, use FRAPS.

I'd go for Audacity. If you want the file size to be smaller, just use HandBrake.

I was amazed at how much nicer my microphone sounded simply by recording using audacity instead of the program that my webcam came with.

I used the same microphone with both programs, yet audacity made it sound SO much nicer. Even before editing!

Personally I use audacity to record just the mic. That way I can edit out things I say without hindering the gameplay footage.
