For someone just starting out would having multiple channels be confusing?

General question about channels. I'm just starting out but plan to have 2-3 channels (it's a target audience thing). One channel is based on soccer stuff, the other would be on comedy/public pranks/jokes/etc, and possibly a lets play video game channel later on. All channels will have something to do with humor.

Since I'm completely new, would it be smarter to just have one channel or would I benefit from having 2-3? I feel having multiple channels can confuse people when just starting out

One of my soccer videos has big potential to become a hit so I'm not quite sure if I should put it on my main channel (k13lock) or soccer specific one (KB FC)
I've always believed in doing whatever you want in life. With that being said, in my honest opinion, I NEVER recommend making more than one channel. Ever. You should be able to upload whatever you want and have it all on one channel. Sure it may be about a target audience, but I'd rather have my subscribers paying attention to my one and only channel than being overwhelmed with keeping up with 3 channels. That's another thing. You'd be spending too much time promoting a bunch of channels and getting overwhelmed with all the work that's involved than if you had just the one channel. However, other people do it, especially really famous YouTubers. Though I feel this way about more than one channel, you should do whatever you want. It doesn't matter when you create the channels, as long as you're comfortable and ready to do it.

You need to think if You're going to get enough time to handle consistent upload schedule if You create 3 channels. I, for example, have a hard time managing my 1 channel, because of work, family stuff etc :)

Well, I actually plan on doing the same thing. I think you should go for it because if you start uploading the other content in your main channel, your current subscribers might unsusbscribe. As long as you can manage them, I think it's a smart idea.

Thanks to everyone for their responses!!!

Both pros/cons to everything. The main thing that makes me think about having multiple channels is target markets. I don't want to lose subscribers and make sure I'm reaching the right people with each channel. Will experiment and continue to consult around.

My honest opinion... Subscribers are not easy to get so I would not send them away from one channel to another. Build one channel and maybe divide that into sections... Like Mondays this and Fridays that ....

I thought about creating two channels, one for vlogging and one for beauty and other things but decided to just keep it to one and plan on making specific videos for each day of the week.

Keep it simple: get only 1 channel and make some schedule about uploading videos like some bigger channels (or like mine MCN)
I'm now used to have 3 channels, from which one is collaboration type so I can focus more on my personal channel, while third is just trying for something (comedy channel alike ... nothing special but would see how does it go in next few months...)
