So after nearly 6 years on and off doing youtube, and 4 years on my current channel, I'm finally gonna get a mic... YAY!!!

Becasue I really don't know at all about mics and stuff I would be incredibly grateful for any advice on what is good and what isn't. I'm currently looking at getting the Blue Snowball (sitting at about £40, or about $53 if you're American) and heard it is pretty good for it's price. If you have any experience with this mic I would be incredibly grateful to hear it or if you have any recommendations I am all ears.

Cheers guys and have a great day!!

It's alright. like it's exactly worth what you're paying lmao.

Nothing special, gets the job done.

It's a pretty decent choice, I'm using one myself right now (should definitely invest in a popfilter) but all in all I'm pretty happy with the quality.

I have no experience about this mic but whichever you decide to buy, learn from mine and Karagol's mistakes and immediately invest in a pop-filter :laugh2: When I bought my mic (a pretty cheap samson) I didn't want to spend money on the pop-filter since I wasn't really trying to do anything "professional" at that point. Now I still haven't gotten round to buying one and I believe it would definitely increase the professionalism of my recordings.

I'm using Blue Yeti but was looking at the snowball while deciding, and from what I remember it's a good mic. Not the best, but I don't think you will be disappointed. But yeah, as some people has said above, pop-filter is absolutely something you should look into as well.

Blue snowball is a good choice, that or the samson meteor mic! Personally I have the meteor mic, but my friend has the snowball, both are pretty solid though. You may want to buy a mic stand and a pop filter. It'll cost you $20 more US dollars but will make recording better and more convenient. for the stand I would recommend the NEEWER Microphone Suspension Boom Scissor Arm Stand. Its pretty snazzy and clamps right onto your desk! Good luck with the selection!
