Final cut pro X will be very easy to use if you have been using Imovie. Premiere is a better editor in my opinion, but it will be much harder to learn.
Final Cut Pro X is defiantly a step up from IMovie, but FCP 7 or Premiere Pro are much more powerful. That's good news! I'm not looking for the best, just something better than iMovie that I can learn quickly.
I need to upgrade my editing program, but is Final Cut Pro hard to get used to after using iMovie for a few years?
IMovie and advanced settings should not be in the same sentence. Picture in picture is far from advanced, and the greenscreen function is no where near what it is in Premiere or FCP. They are miles apart.have you been using advanced settings for imovie? it allows picture in picture and green screen!

I beg to differ. Imovie gives a false idea of what editing truly is. The workflow is way different and makes transitions hard.I realize that. I have both programs. Its just that imovie is a darn good place to start.
