Feeling 'Tied' to Certain Topics

Hi Everyone :)

I have a slight predicament with my channel and wanted to share on here in case anyone has had the same thing and/or has any ideas.

My channel is specifically about mental health and illness and I currently have 472 subs. I am now finding myself wanting to make videos that are a bit more 'random' without (if possible) starting another channel. I feel as though I have covered almost everything I can on the specialist topic but I would feel a bit guilty swerving too much because I'm guessing my subscribers subbed for that specific content.

Just having written the stuff above, it seems fairly obvious - create a new channel or stop whining and carry on. Thought I would see what other people's thoughts are, though :).

Hope I explained it well enough!

Might it be worth mentioning what you want to do in an update video and letting your active subscribers tell you if they'd mind? Lots of creators choose to have EXTRAS channels or vlog channels on the side.
You could have a specific day of the week where you create more random content and that way if they don't want to watch they can just not watch on that particular day?

I suggest doing some of these new videos which you want to and check how many views, likes and even comments you get on each one. If you don't get many views you know your subscribers aren't interested

Thank you, both! Great ideas.
Hope you're well! :)

On an old channel I had, I simply researched good deeds, and positive news (as scarce as it was to find). Relaying what information I could to my audience, and it seemed to really attract a crowd. Most major news only covers the nitty gritty, so it's nice to shed some light on the hidden gems out there.

I checked your channel out last night and saw those - great idea! Would feel a bit crappy pinching your idea, though.
I'm sure I will think of something :).

One potential option could be to say "ok, Mondays are going to be Mental Health Mondays, and then Fridays will be Friday Funday where I make more random videos". Unless you don't want to make mental health videos anymore at all?

I really like this idea, too! You guys are so helpful - thanks!!
I definitely still want to make mental health videos, too. :)
